Bridge Club – Sydney’s hottest music showcase for Australian artists exploded onto the scene last year and already its sixth edition is well underway. Set to seduce music enthusiasts’ ears June 23rd 2016 at The Oxford Circus in Sydney, the next instalment of Bridge Club welcomes three massive new bands and a brand-spanking new venue!
Starting in 2015 to give up and coming Australian bands an opportunity to play in front of members of the Australian music industry, as well as new fans and peers, the music showcases sees numerous acts go on to find a label or agency representation after performing one of these shows. Now with the announcement of Bridge Club’s sixth edition, the local music industry sees its concept growing stronger with each show.
The lineup for the evening includes:
The Red Wine Roses
Soaked in red wine and blues, The Red Wine Roses is a 7-piece rock n’ roll band residing in Sydney playing for the times of old dimes. The band evolved in a tea lounge of a broken home, a dim light, acoustic rhythms and howls all through the night. The Red Wine Roses believe in a new order of business, black hat societies, expression replacing confession and tails of psycho ladies, with the sole fact to play their dues to the blues and get loud and live. Follow The Red Wine Roses here.
Nightswimming formed in a shoebox apartment in Glebe over a mutual love of Mazzy Star, Beach House and The XX. They love dog sitting in Beirut, riding yaks in Nepal, psychoanalysing pandas in China and spaghetti bolognese. You know it makes sense! Follow Nightswimming here.
Rob Walker, singer/songwriter from Perth is an acoustic powerhouse. Exquisite vocals, rhythm extraordinaire, beautiful melodies, and thumping acoustic guitar combined with kick drums to complete a solo show like no other. Combined with lyrics that leave one hanging for the next verse, a Rob Walker show will have you gasping for breath and wanting more. Powerful, raw and full of emotion. Follow Rob Walker here.
“As a producer, Rob Walker has everything I look for in an artist, and so much more!” Jeff Martin (The Tea Party)
