Babyjane, one of Australia’s most explosive hard rock acts, have come out of the rusty gate with all guns blazing…
Andy Smith (the towering quarterback dripping with attitude); Sav Hatzi (rock’s next guitar hero – forget the Top Hat); Paul Judge (a Sid look-alike who can actually play the bass) and Nik ‘Animal’ Kats (‘the bombast of Bonham meets the terror of Tommy Lee’) unleashed their debut album ‘Are You Listening’ in 2011. Mixed by multi-platinum selling producer Michael Wagener (Metallica/Janet Jackson/Ozzy Osbourne/Extreme), it’s hard rock at its absolute best.
Thriving on chaos and honest, raw rock music; Babyjane have built a great reputation and a solid following over the years. They’ve recorded with members of Guns N’ Roses and Motley Crue, toured throughout the States and hooked in hundreds and thousands with their dirty rock riffs, seductively heavy rhythms and impressive collaborations and music variety.
After Australian support shows with Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach at the Crown and Iron Maiden’s Paul Dianno at Amplifier, Babyjane have gone from strength to strength. Their 2008 support gig with Bach left word on everyone’s lips that Babyjane ‘are the band to watch’, and it couldn’t be any further from the truth With excellent reviews in Classic Rock, AOR and Powerplay magazines in 2013, regular rotation on WA’s number one radio station 96fm (2012), over 8000 YouTube views of their videos (Are You Listening/She’s Just A Liar) and front-page news over six times on #1 rock website Blabbermouth.net, Babyjane are only just getting started.
Babyjane stepped it up a notch with their second album, Make It Sick, recorded in Nashville 2012 with Michael Wagener taking the reigns from start to finish and Dead Daisies vocalist John Corabi making a screaming guest appearance on the title track. 2015 saw Babyjane invited to play the annual Rocklahoma Festival in America, and completing their first tour of the States with shows in Dallas, Tulsa, and the Whiskey Au Go Go in Los Angeles to rapturous response.
Their most recent single, Do Ya, was released in September 2015 and features one-time Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, who invited Babyjane to record with him in LA earlier this year. Clarke plays guitar and sings on the single. Babyjane will be working on their third album 23 Sins with Keith Olsen (Whitesnake 1987) throughout 2016. The recent single also took out top place in the Metro Song of the Year competition with Pirate 88 Radio Station.
Featuring a sound only a world-class producer can muster, hugely addictive songs with insane hooks, a well-oiled 4-piece band behind it and album #3 set for release, Babyjane are ready to step into the big league.
Babyjane are just gathering steam. Are you listening? You soon will be…
