It’s finally that time of month where we have another long weekend coming up! Yes! The cold weather is dying down, the sun is coming out, and there’s more live music action to keep you entertained regardless of what day of the week it is. Winning all round ūüôā

Rottofest will dominate September for music and comedy fans, or if you were lucky enough to grab tickets to the sold out show Listen Out Festival, that’ll certainly get you through the long weekend. For anyone that did miss out on tickets there’s still heaps more live music goodness, including Wave Rock Weekender and some local and international tours to wrap your ears around.

Season 6 of The Newport Record Club finishes¬†up this month with Elton John, John Lennon, Spinal Tap and Beastie Boys still to come; or check out a few of the Record Club Roadshow nights with an authentic tribute to Guns N’ Roses before the real deal comes next year.¬†Catch Diesel on his Americana tour, Eskimo Joe’s Kav Temperley for his debut EP launch, Cog for their renowned electrifying shows or Steve Kilbey (The Church) for his solo performance – plus LOTS more!

He is the front man and songwriter for both Timothy Nelson & The Infidels and High Horse (also playing guitar and keys), performs solo and also plays in The Kill Devil Hills, providing keys and occasional guitar, with input on song arrangement and structure in the group. He has won several WA Music Awards (WAMi’s) and other songwriting awards for his various works. Nelson is currently recording his debut solo album at RADA Studios in West Perth, for release in 2016. Info:¬†The Sonics laid down the blueprint for garage-rock back in 1963 with the release of their first single The Witch. They followed that up with even up with even more grease and oil soaked nuggets in Psycho, Boss Hoss, Cinderella, Strychnine, He‚Äôs Waitin‚Äô, Shot Down and Have Love Will Travel before calling it quits in 1968. Reuniting briefly in 1972 and again in 1980, The Sonics then took permanent leave while the rest of the world caught up with them.
