Gig Guide: Your Dose of Live Music in Perth, June 2015

There’s a lot of cool new tunes circulating in Perth at the moment and June is jam packed with them. Complete with live music acts that’ll definitely be treating those eardrums, we’ve got everything covered from chilled out vibes to reggae roots, rock n’ roll and metal.

When: Friday 5th June 8pm.
Where: The Velvet Lounge, Mt Lawley.
Cost: $10 on the door.
Info: Music kicks off at 8pm and features some insanely awesome soulful sounds and party favourites that’ll have you sweating out the working week stress. Event details can be found here.

An Eye Gouging Assortment of Hard Rock Metal with The Flying Embers

Where: The Civic Hotel, Inglewood.

Info: A super sweet line up of local bands with The Flying Embers headlining. Event details can be found here

Sundowner Music with Nathan Gaunt

When: Friday 12th June 4pm.
Where: Dome Cafe, Osborne Park.
Cost: Varies between $10 – $15. Follow Dome’s Facebook page for details.
Info: Helping you to unwind from a long working week, Dome feature live music complete with food and BYO beer and wine every Friday night. This evening will be with local star Nathan Gaunt (Country | Blues | Rock n’ Roll). Perfect for an inexpensive night of live music and drinks with friends, make sure you check out their other local acts and dates.

Hermitude Live at Metros


When: Saturday 13th June 7pm.
Where: Metropolis Fremantle.
Cost: $40
Info: After the release of their Dark Night Sweet Light album that dropped May 8th, Hermitude are bringing it back with a huge show that’s bound to blow your mind. Friday night sold out super quick so make sure you book your Saturday night tickets now. Event details can be found here.

The Second Alternation at The Herdy

When: Saturday 13th June at 8pm.
Where: Herdsman Lake Tavern, Wembley.
Cost: $10 at the door.
Info: One of Perth’s landmark pubs, The Herdy, is back hosting live music – a great excuse to get down for a feed and some live tunes to support the local music scene. Music kicks off just after 8pm and goes right through to 11.45pm. Event details can be found here. Support acts include The Temperament, Sciatika, The Methamphetaqueens and Bear Down for Midterms.

Manaaki and The Weapon is Sound

When: Saturday 13th June at 8pm.
Where: Scarborough’s best live music venue, The Indi Bar.
Cost: TBA.
Info: After a hiatus away, one of Perth’s best dub reggae bands The Weapon is Sound will be collaborating once again at the Indi Bar. Supporting is New Zealand flavoured reggae group Manaaki, which includes members from 44 Degreez on lead vocals and guitar, and local loop artist Trojan John on bass and vocals. Event details can be found here.

The Insinnerators Pulverize the Paddo with Rob Walker

Where: The Paddington Ale House – The newest old original venue in town!

Info: Brought to you by the fine blokes at Walk Your Talk Productions, this free show has one aim – to reintroduce the uneducated to an old classic…Rock n’ Roll. Event details can be found here.

Give Nepal Earthquake Appeal

When: Saturday 20th June 7pm.
Where: The Civic Hotel, Inglewood.
Cost: $20 pre-sale tickets. All proceeds go to the Australia Himalayan Foundation to help rebuild Nepal. Tickets can be purchased here and donations can also be made.
Info:  Live music for a great cause? Yes please! Fuelled by some of Perth’s best local talent and renowned bands, all proceeds will go to help rebuild Nepal after the devastating earthquakes. Bands to be announced very soon so make sure you follow the event page!

Where: Novotel Perth Langley.

Info: As part of a summer celebration tradition in France, there will a lot of great musicians performing in different rooms, including a huge variety of different styles. Unamped Sessions at Choo Choo’s

Where: Choo Choo’s, Perth.

Info: Choo Choo’s, one of the coolest cocktails bars in Perth CBD, have started showcasing some of Perth’s best original musicians. Every Wednesday night four local original acts will be performing, in addition to the utterly delicious snack from That Naughty Food Truck and the usual tasty cocktails from the awesome bar team. Aaron Gwynaire (Rock | Pop | Acoustic | Indie) will be playing this evening, with Mind Canary (Alternative | Folk), Mr E. Hells Bells – A Solute to AC/DC

Where: Scarborough’s best live music venue, The Indi Bar.

Jebediah Anniversary Tour


When: Sunday 28th June 7pm.
Where: Astor Theatre, Mt Lawley.
Cost: $45
Info: With the first two nights already sold out, you’ll need to get in quick to catch Perth’s finest Indi rockers. Playing all their classics with a few new tracks under their belt from compilation album Twenty – it’ll be a gig not to be missed. Event details can be found here.

RTRFM Fremantle Winter Music Festival


When: Saturday 27th June 7pm – 1am.
Where: Mojo’s Bar & Courtyard | North Fremantle Bowls Club | Railway Hotel | Swan Basement | Swan Hotel Lounge.
Cost: $20 general public $15 for RTRFM subscribers. Get the presale tickets here or on the door at either of the venues on the night. Gold/platinum RTRFM subscribers will receive free entry.
Info: RTRFM 92.1 will yet again warm up your Winter eve with the ninth annual Fremantle Winter Music Festival. Featuring 24 of Perth’s finest live acts and a selection of DJ’s it’s going to be a huge night across five iconic music venues. Event details can be found here
