The inaugural Fremantle Folk Festival is a family-friendly celebration of music, food, culture and everything we love about Freo. The 2017 event will be held in the historic Princess May Park, Clancys Fish Pub Fremantle and surrounds Saturday 14th October. This year sees a huge lineup of local live music goodness as the Fremantle Folk Festival gets bigger and better.
Headlining the festival are The Pigram Brothers for an exclusive celebration show. This will be the band’s only performance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic album Salt Water Country. They will also be joined by Eskimo Joe’s frontman Kav Temperley. Soukouss Internationale, Toby Beard, Lloyd Spiegel, Timothy Nelson, Old Blood and King of the Travellers are also included in the festival lineup. See below for more acts, with additional performers still to be announced.
The Fremantle Folk Festival promises to be a fun-filled day for the entire family. Circus WA and their Big Top add a lively new addition. Kids circus workshops will run throughout the day to tempt the budding performer and keep them entertained for hours. Children are encouraged to hang out in the ‘Kids Zone’ on the west side of Princess May Park, where they can enjoy some time away from the action to recoup too.
The evening will see the Big Top transform into a very hip and more intimate third stage. Along with our food vendors, craft beer, wine and cider stalls, roaming entertainment, night sky light installation and more, the 2017 Fremantle Folk Festival promises to be the best day out you will have all year!
