Something For Kate‘s heart-throb frontman Paul Dempsey is hitting the road later this year for his Blindspot National Tour. Dempsey and band will embark on an Australian cities tour starting 1st June in Brisbane to celebrate the release of his hot new single Blindspot. The tour will run through to July and finish up on the 8th in Melbourne.
Blindspot – the third track lifted off Dempsey’s latest LP, Strange Loop, elicits that hyper-emotional response from its listeners; a skill Dempsey’s renowned for and pulls off so well. The chorus is gripping, the lyrics are sweetly seductive and the song is a definite highlight of his LP release, which he toured Australia in support of August last year. As opposed to his combustible Morningless (the first single off the album) and the gentle folk tingles of Idiot Oracle, Blindspot is pop-psychology at its finest.
The singer-songwriter’s upcoming venture will see headline shows throughout June and July in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne where he’ll be backed by his band and Strange Loop, which hit the top five on its release last year. Currently, Dempsey is concluding his European solo tour in Ireland and will reunite with his band in Australia, comprised of Pat Bourke, Olympia, Shannon Vanderwertt and Adrian Stoyles for a string of shows fans cannot afford to miss. Special guests to be announced for the shows soon. Full tour dates below.
Dempsey will be performing tracks from his latest album but fans and music lovers can expect songs from throughout his storied career, including favourites from the Something For Kate back catalogue.
