Over half way through 2017 and the local live music scene still has ample amounts in store. This month’s Perth gig guide is action-packed with music goodies for all ears. Our local hottest ‘new’ music venue, Badlands Bar, celebrates its 1st birthday with one epic lineup. THE live music showcase is back with Toward Music and Fly By Night Club on Saturday 26th. FEASTER #4 is now over TWO stages with a massive lineup for all music lovers to feast their ears upon.

EP, album and single launches from Big Orange, Moonlighter, Sarah McLeod, Tracey Barnett, The MEeck, Chapman, The Love Junkies, Crooked Colours, Edie Green and more! Diesel is heading over to Perth for his 30 Years Thang tour, Illy for his Two Degrees tour and Verge Collection kickstart their national tour at Jack Rabbit Slims. The music of Jimi Hendrix is celebrated over the month at multiple live music venues as part of the 50th anniversary for Volume II, and Mark Seymore celebrates his 30+ year career with The Undertow later in the month. Russell Morris, Hoodoo Gurus and You Am I all make an appearance too.

Info: WA blues guitar slinger Matty T Wall announces that he’ll be legging it over to the east coast this August in support of his new single Broken Heart Tattoo. Hard rocking and big bopping, Broken Heart Tattoo tells a tall tale of treachery over a walking bass line – one night, two protagonists, two gunshots and a deadly duel over the girl with the self-referential trademark. The song was inspired by the track Be Cool by Albert Collins, another story that ends in a gunshot.

Psychedelic ROCK Royalty

Info: On August 2, 1968, at the Singer Bowl in New York, two of the most influential rock’n’roll bands of all time shared the stage as part of the New York Rock Festival. The Doors and The Who were both at the height of their ‘60s powers and it was a rare combination not lost on the frenzied audience of 16,500, who rioted upon night’s end. Almost 40 years later, this iconic-double bill will be revisited and celebrated by some of Perth’s finest musicians. Alumni of the revered Newport Record Club, L.A. Women and Who’s Best have already tantalised Perth audiences with their salutes to The Doors and The Who, respectively.
