Spring has finally sprung! Kick off the season with plenty of sunshine, good vibes and live music – September comes with plenty of it.

On the local front, EP and single launches from Pat Chow, Moonlighter, Tex Perkins (with Don Walker and Charlie Owen) will sure to impress. The Getaway Plan, Pete Murray, Placebo, The Black Sorrows, AFI, London Grammar, Damien Dempsy and Angus and Julia Stone head to Perth for some epic tours lined up. Lionel Richie will also make a much-anticipated appearance, and The Game will be touring his last and final tour. For something a little different, make sure you catch Pond at their Fremantle Prison gig on the 16th. Ghosts and live music!

An Evening with the Real Machine Gun Preacher

Info: An evening with the REAL Machine Gun Preacher is an inspiring and heart-wrenching talk by Sam Childers about the work he does in Africa. The story the movie Machine Gun Preacher is based on comes alive as Childers tells of how he went from a drug addict to looking after one of the largest orphanages in Southern Sudan, feeding and housing over 1,000 children. A not-to-be-missed event. All proceeds go to Sam’s cause.

Elk Bell’s latest release, Republica d’fantAsia, was recorded from 2012 to 2016 and is a bewitching concoction of pure melody, brooding piano, sweet vocals and dark and dangerous lyrics about love won and lost, desire and fulfilment. Hugh – a veteran of the Perth original music scene – has lent his talents to such seminal acts as Autopilot, End of Fashion, Bob Evans, The Avenues, Eskimo Joe, The Basement Birds, Steve Poltz and The Chemist, amongst many others. His debut 11-track album has been many years in the making; built from snippets of tunes sung in hallways and lounge rooms into fully fledged pop/folk masterpieces, these are songs about Love and Need, Life, Death and Romance, Nothing and Everything.
