With the long weekend only just around the corner, no doubt you’re all on the hunt for that next dose of live music. This Friday night, the Herdsman Lake Tavern will be showcasing a range of local music talent from 8pm. Headlining the evening, the Stuart Orchard band will be playing as a trio in the lead up to the band’s album launch early April.

Recently returning from Berlin – the centre for music in Germany – Stu Orchard along with band mates Daniel Hall, (guitar) David Dower (keyboard), Arvis Mena (bass), Brent Purser (drums) and Giles Lowe (bass) have finished Unintended Consequences; an album that oozes imagination and that’s dosed in a raw sound of richness.  Due to be launched April 11th, 2015 at the Astor Theatre in Mt Lawley, Unintended Consequences is a compelling completion that‘s both lyrically poetic and deeply moving.

The album expresses a feast of sounds so diverse in range it quenches a variety of music thirsts. It’s freshly intriguing, a little unpredictable and flickers between a solid mix of emotions. To get a taste of what the Stuart Orchard band will be releasing in April, check them out as trio this Friday night at the Herdy. Supporting the boys will be the following local acts to tempt your music taste buds too.

8.15pm – 8.45pm: Aaron Gwynaire

9.05pm – 9.40pm: The Apollo Million

10.00pm – 10.40pm: The Hunting Birds

11:00pm – 11.45pm: Stu Orchard Trio

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are only $10. More information about the event can be found here – and make sure you invite your friends too!

The Herdy – Back in the Live Music Scene

After a long break from the scene, the Herdy is now officially back hosting live music Friday and Saturday nights. With the demise of several key venues around Perth, including Fremantle’s renowned Fly by Night Club and Northbridge’s Las Vegas themed Devilles Pad, the development of more live music venues is essential – so it’s a great thing the Herdy are back on board with it. The Herdy come complete with their own in house PA, lighting production, central location and positively buzzing vibe.

This Friday 27th February, 2015 is going to be a killer night! Make sure you get on down and support the local music scene and the sensational talent we have. Tickets can be brought at the door and are only $10.
